The tour visits Sazan Island first, for about 40 minutes, then Haxhi Ali Cave for about 15 minutes, and ends with about two and a half hours at a beach on the Karaburun coast before the ride back to Vlorë. Triton gives these timings for reference only, and they can change.
Triton rates the trip as easy. The meeting point is the one in your booking confirmation, so follow that rather than an address found elsewhere. A guide on board explains each stop in English, Albanian or Italian.
Haxhi Ali Cave
Haxhi Ali Cave is a sea cave on the Karaburun peninsula, inside the Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park. Albania's National Tourism Agency calls it the largest coastal cave in Albania, describes it as a natural monument and notes that it can be reached only by boat from Vlorë.

On this tour the boat goes into the cave for photos while the skipper tells the story of Haxhi Ali, a seafarer from Ulcinj who, according to local legend, sheltered there. Swimming is not allowed at Haxhi Ali Cave: Triton's own page on the cave says that swimming and snorkelling are not permitted there. You stay on board for the stop of about 15 minutes.
A beach on the Karaburun coast
The longest stop, about two and a half hours, is at a beach on the Karaburun peninsula, which lies between the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Triton lists it as time for a break, swimming and free time, but it does not name the beach, so this guide does not name it either.
Food and drinks are not among the inclusions, and the beach restaurants accept cash only, so bring cash. Sunbeds and umbrellas are not included either; they can be bought at the beach.
What the ticket includes
The ticket covers the boat trip and the people and safety gear that come with it. Triton's list for this tour is short, and anything not on it, including sunbeds and umbrellas at the beach, is paid for separately on the day.
- A modern speedboat from Vlorë and back.
- A local guide; the tour runs in English, Albanian or Italian.
- Life jackets for all passengers.
- Insurance for the tour.
- A sound system on board.
Before you book
Is there a boat that lands only on Sazan?
Not among Triton's scheduled tours: only this five-hour tour lands on Sazan, and it continues to Haxhi Ali Cave and a beach on the Karaburun coast. The time on the island is about 40 minutes whichever departure you book. Triton also arranges private boat tours on request.
Is swimming allowed at Haxhi Ali Cave?
No. Swimming is not allowed at Haxhi Ali Cave: the boat goes inside for photos and the skipper's story, then moves on. The long swim of the day is at the Karaburun beach, and there is a shorter chance to swim on Sazan.
Which departure should I choose?
All three departures, at 09:00, 11:30 and 14:00, follow the same route with the same stops. Choose the time that suits your day; the booking form shows which departures are available on your date, and Triton confirms the details at checkout.
What happens if the weather turns?
The trip needs good weather. If Triton cancels it because of poor conditions, you are offered another date or a full refund. If you cancel yourself, you get a full refund up to 24 hours before departure.
Sazan tour or Blue Cave & Grama tour?
This tour takes about five hours and includes about 40 minutes ashore on Sazan. Triton's Secret Blue Cave & Grama Bay tour leaves at 10:30, takes about eight hours and ends with a long stop at Grama Bay; it does not land on Sazan, and the Sazan tour does not stop at the Blue Cave.
